Ferguson 3T07 Model 3289 Head Design

This photograph shows the tape path, and the components within this path. The record / playback head requires changing on this unit, however, I have decided to leave it, as it is the original. This unit also has an automatic shut-off mechanism, which the plastic lever within the tape path triggers. When the cassette reaches the end, the tension in the tape increases, and pushes this lever.

Interestingly, the Sanyo IC generates the erase bias for the erase head.

This is an example of a worn out audio head. It still produces reasonable sound though.
